Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filter

The horizontal leaf filter (shell retraction) consist of a horizontal cylindrical vessel with special bonnet wedged lock closure & neoprene seal. The retractable filter shell is mounted on 4 external mounted wheel assemblies and retraction is accomplished by hydraulic cylinders complete with hydraulic power pack. The hydraulic cylinders are connected to the power pack by high-pressure flexible rubber hoses/ SS tubings.

All nozzle connections are mounted on fixed head of filter vessel & to open & close the filter vessel, during cake discharge no connections have to be disconnected.

To avoid opening under pressure, appropriate interlocking is provided, if process.
Horizontal pressure leaf filters (HPLF) are designed for high flow rates and batch operation. HPLF are used when the filter cake is sticky & difficult to remove.

Horizontal Pressure Leaf filters are specially designed for filtration of wax in edible oils.

Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filter - FAQ

What is horizontal pressure leaf filter?

A horizontal pressure leaf filter is an efficient solid-liquid separation system. Its horizontal orientation simplifies maintenance, while reusable filter leaves reduce costs. With high filtration efficiency, it suits industries like oil, chemical, and pharmaceutical. Its unique features include easy access, maintenance, and versatility.

What is the capacity of horizontal pressure leaf filter?

The capacity of a horizontal pressure leaf filter can vary depending on various factors such as the size of the filter, the nature of the liquid being filtered, and the desired filtration rate. Typically, horizontal pressure leaf filters have a capacity ranging from a few hundred liters per hour to several thousand liters per hour, catering to the needs of different industries. It is advisable to consult with manufacturers or suppliers to determine the specific capacity requirements for your application.

What is a horizontal leaf filter suitable for?

A horizontal leaf filter is suitable for a wide range of industries and applications. It is commonly used for solid-liquid separation in industries such as oil refining, chemical processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food and beverage production, and wastewater treatment. It effectively removes impurities, particles, and contaminants from liquids, ensuring product quality and process efficiency. Its versatility and high filtration efficiency make it a preferred choice for various industries seeking reliable and efficient filtration solutions.

How does a horizontal pressure leaf filter work?

A horizontal pressure leaf filter works by utilizing a horizontal cylindrical vessel with vertically positioned filter leaves covered by a filter medium. The liquid to be filtered is pumped into the vessel, creating pressure that forces it to pass through the filter medium. Solid particles are retained on the filter leaves, forming a cake.

What are the advantages of using a horizontal pressure leaf filter?

Using a horizontal pressure leaf filter offers several advantages. Firstly, its horizontal orientation allows for easier access and maintenance compared to vertical filters. Secondly, the filter leaves can be cleaned and reused, reducing operational costs. Thirdly, it provides high filtration efficiency, ensuring effective solid-liquid separation. Additionally, it is versatile and suitable for various industries such as oil, chemical, and pharmaceutical.
