Process of Hazelnut Oil Refining :
Gum Conditioning
The crude hazel nut oil from bulk storage tank, is directly pumped to the oil/oil heat exchanger where incoming crude oil is getting heated by the outgoing refined oil, further this oil is going to buffering tank which insures the constant flow of incoming and outgoing oil, it is also equipped with mechanical agitator and steam heating coils. Where oil heated up to the required temperature as process demands. And mixed properly for the purpose of HOMOGENATION. Further this oil is heated with heat exchanger and pumped to the hydration tank, where calculated amounted of hot water is being added continuously, to maturate the Hydratable gums. In continuous process this hydrated water degummed, Gums are separated in the self-cleaning centrifugal separator.
This degummed oil is further heated by a steam in heat exchanger, then mixed properly with hot water with the help of knife mixer and getting water washed by a centrifugal separator. Finally, this water washed oil is dried under vacuum in a vacuum drier.
The degumming of Crude Hazel Nut Oil helps in improving physical stability of the degummed oil. It also eliminates phosphatides, pigments and other impurities from the oil.
Continuous Bleaching
The degummed hazel nut oil consists of traces of colour Pigments, Metals, phospholipids and various other impurities which are treated in the bleaching section, specially designed by Spectec for Hazelnut oil.
In the bleaching section, degummed Hazel Nut oil from intermediate storage tanks is pumped to the slurry mixing Tank through the Plate Heat Exchangers, which is getting heated through the outgoing hot bleached oil, this oil is further heated through the steam in PHE and pumped to the BLEACHER at the same time. Part of oil is carried to the SLURRY TANK where the oil is cooled before passing to slurry mixer. Pre-calculated amount of bleaching earth is added in the slurry mixer, this slurry is sucked and balanced by the means of vacuum to the bleacher.

Dewaxing
Hazel Nut oil contains wax of 1000 -1500 PPM which are removed through Dewaxing process which helps in improving the oil quality.
De-waxing is the process to cool the oil at the temperature, at which wax converts in solid form (actually in slurry form) which oil remains in liquid form as it is. For this oil cooled slowly and step by step, with cold water and then chilled water. The bleached oil from BOT is pumped continuously with stream of flow to the Vertical specially designed STP-CRYSTA-TOWER for crystallization of Hazel Nut Oil, where oil is cooled slowly and steadily in counter current manner, so as to crystallize the wax for the purpose of easy filtration. After this oil is transferred to the maturater, which is again in series to the crystallizers, here oil maturated in terms of temperature it will be increased or decreased as per requirement to assure the crystal formation of wax. Finally, this oil is filtered by the Latest designed automatic gravity filter.

Deodorization
Hazelnut oil constitutes of high FFA of 20% which needs to be reduced for making it conducive for human consumption. Spectec Techno Projects Pvt. Ltd has the experience of converting even 30 % FFA to 0.1% FFA, So for spectec handling a high FFA oil like Hazelnut Oil is not a problem.
With Spectec’s specially designed Deodorizer for treating high FFA oil, Spectec can easily and efficiently reduce the FFA of Hazelnut oil to 0.1%, without detoriating the quality and nutritional value of the oil.
