Bleaching Process In Edible Oil Refining Plant

Bleaching is the process of removing impurities, colour pigments, traces of gums and soaps from vegetable oil. In this process colour pigments and traces of soap are removed by adding bleaching earth under vacuum at a conducive temperature for bleaching with maximum retention time. Following which the bleached oil is then filtered in Pressure leaf filter(PLF), followed by a polishing filter. After the filtration process, the final bleached oil is sent for further refining to the dewaxing section for further processing.
